July 15th-21st

Going to be a hot one this week!  Let’s see what the week looks like with some inside activities, a few outside activities and some chances to cool off mixed in.

Right off the bat, I see a Poetry Slam at Java Joe’s Tuesday night at 8.  I have never been to one – this will be the week we try it out.

Taking a run over to The Republic on Wednesday to catch some music with Brian Herrin would be a nice mix of indoor and outdoor activities on their open air bar on the 6th floor of the AC Marriott.

Vinyl Bingo at Captain Roy’s is always a hoot.  Watch for their themes to be rolled out for Wednesday on Tuesday on their FB post.

A real test of the tolerance for the heat will be Thursday night at Social Irrigation at the Botanical Center.  Chad Elliott and The Redemptions is worth any discomfort you might feel.  They also have plenty of things to drink available, so don’t miss out on this great show!

Friday will almost certainly be the Work Release Party with Bob Pace and the Dangerous Blues Band.  This is such a great event and the music is just a treat.  Grab dinner downtown after, and still be ready to roll by 9 PM!

Saturday is of course for the Farmer’s Market.  Go early to beat the heat and the crowds.  Then end the day at the Social Club with a Comedy Show in the Basement at the Kum and Go Theatre.

If you don’t do anything else, get to Noce Sunday night for Bruce Katz and James Harman.  Fantastic Blues show.  Both musicians have incredible credentials and will put on a fantastic show.

This list certainly stacks up to be a great week.  Stay hydrated!
