This week we’re looking at some great weather, so what a great opportunity to get out and about!
On Wednesday it might be tempting to try out belly dancing at the Social Club, but I think I’ll stick to the EV and either head to The Republic and catch Chris Ranallo music, or go to watch badminton at Captain Roy’s. There are a few concerts worth noting, such as Baroness at Wooly’s and a concert at the new Water Works Park Amphitheater.
Tuesday, I see a “Family Feud” style trivia at the Grumpy Goat. They call it “Survey Says”. I call it a good opportunity for fun!
Thursday evening looks perfect for outdoors at the Jasper Winery to catch Dazy Head Mazy! Bring lawn chairs and snacks, buy from the food trucks there, buy wine and beer onsite (can’t bring alcohol on site!). Beautiful setting – a consummate Iowa event!
If you have a chance to have lunch downtown on Friday, it just might be as ideal as it can get if you can get to the Baratta’s Café at the Historical Museum. They have music on the terrace, with the fabulous views of downtown to the west and the Capitol to the east. Then take the d-Line over to the west end of downtown and tour the Meredith Gardens. Indescribable how beautiful this area is.
Saturday is of course Farmers Market. But did you know there are all kinds of brunch options going on all over downtown on Saturday? Get your market business done and hit a brunch to put your weekend in overdrive. Check out the calendar part of DowntowNow to pick your brunch destination.
Sunday has Capitol Tunes on the Capitol grounds in the west lawn. Another great, peaceful Iowa feel sort of event.
See you on the sidewalk!
